This super sweet Indiana wedding took advantage of stunning Autumn views to frame these memorable moments.
In the bride’s words, “I found The Wilds when I was looking through a wedding magazine for Indiana – and The Wilds was listed as the best venue in the state! We went to go see The Wilds, and as soon as we saw the property we knew it would be perfect.” With a vision for a glorious Autumn backdrop for their ceremony, Sarah and Ryan quickly knew that The Wilds would accomplish their perfect Indiana wedding. With sweet and considerate elements for their guests and some truly special design touches, we’re thrilled to share this sentimental autumn wedding with you today.

A lucky start for this Indiana Wedding
For their Autumn wedding in Indiana, Sarah and Ryan had two guiding aesthetic notes. The first was romantic and soft. This pair aimed for classic romantic details and leaned into the bright and airy aspect of our venue. The second was knowing that they wanted a true fall wedding. Their ceremony took place at the height of our Brown County woods fall color, and the palette informed all of their remaining aesthetic decisions. Sarah prepped in our luminous bridal suite, joined by her bridesmaids in rich burnt orange gowns.
Sarah’s autumn bridal look came together with an ethereal gown from BHLDN, Olive + Piper jewelry, and lace bridal shoes from Bella Belle.
Sarah shared some sweet moments with her closest gals before enjoying a first look with her dad on the lawn. Her first steps outdoor brought another surprise. The bride reflected on ladybugs being everywhere on their wedding day. As a sign of luck in many cultures, this was an incredibly special element of the day.

Dedicated beginnings from the groom
For groom, Ryan, this day was a culmination of intentional pursuit. The pair met while working together in Columbus, Indiana, and he found any way he could to connect with Sarah. This included pretending to enjoy tea to join Sarah for her tea break, a detail that makes them laugh today. The pair soon began dating, and the rest is history.
Ryan and his groomsmen wore mid-tone grey, three piece suits with burnt orange ties to complete the bridal party look.
Bride, Sarah, reflects on the moments leading up to her first look with her soon-to-be husband, Ryan,
The first look was nerve-wrecking! Once we saw each other though, all the nerves were gone. It was super nice.
Feeling the excitement replace their nerves, the pair enjoyed portraits together before the ceremony began.

Classic details for an Autumn wedding in Indiana
Decor was kept simple and romantic to let the woods shine. The perfect scene was set for this celebration with floral elements by For The Beauty Floral and event communications by Creative In Bloom. Sweet flower girls and ring bearers joined the ceremony, including a beautiful floral installation on the wagon for the smallest attendants. Sarah and Ryan’s happily ever after followed soon after.
The pair look forward to a life together as best friends. 50 years down the road, they expressed that they hope things are much the same as they are now. With a family of their own, they see themselves continuing to balance one another and sharing the fun that they do now.

Perfect Reception details for all of your guests, even the littles
Guest experience was a top priority for Sarah and Ryan’s Indiana wedding. A few must-haves for them were activities for the kids, a polaroid guest book, and an open bar. From coloring books to the polaroid guest book setup next to the pumpkin that Ryan used to propose, guests found a charming welcome to the reception. The stunning mirrored seating chart by Creative In Bloom guided guests to their seats to enjoy the celebration. Delightful focal-points like this kept decor to thoughtful touches to maximize their budget with maximum style.
Everyone enjoyed a laughter-filled reception. A highlight for all was in the toast from Ryan’s friends. To honor their love of playing Dungeons and Dragons together, their speech was read from an ornate scroll. The bride was as surprised as the guests and says she laughed the entire time!

Advice from Sarah and Ryan for your own Wedding Planning
We asked the newlyweds what advice they would share for other couples planning their own Indiana wedding at The Wilds, and they shared the following sweet advice:
Just have fun with it however you can! Make a date night out of every meeting you have to go to. It can be so stressful – just try to keep it light and don’t have a very strict way things need to be. Anything at The Wilds will be beautiful and well taken care of. Of course do what you need to do in order to make sure you have a wedding, but have fun with it!
Some extra wise notes? Sarah recommends having a plan for yummy food to have on hand while you and your loved ones get ready. She also recommends leaning on your team at The Wilds, noting that the day-of coordination kept her stress free.
