This charming couple filled their day with personalized details, creating a day that was an authentic celebration of their relationship. Inspired by good times spent in their favorite breweries, Darbi and Eric truly transported their guests in their craft beer-themed wedding. If you are looking for ways to give your guests an experience that brings them closer to you as a couple, you won’t want to miss today’s inspirational wedding at The Wilds.
At The Wilds, we’re big believers in helping our couples feel at home on their wedding day. Embodying their favorite places is always a joy, so when Darbi and Eric told us about their enjoyment of visiting craft beer breweries, we were all in. After handing the couple a pair of Upland Brewing drinks and seating them at the head table during their venue walkthrough, they knew we were a match made in heaven.
The bride and groom’s cozy, personal, and fun wedding day started with bridal prep. In our luminous suite, Darbi donned her ethereal Willowby by Watters gown found at Sophia’s Bridal. The relaxed and heartfelt day began with some incredibly sweet first looks, culminating in quietly sharing vows with Eric prior to the ceremony.
Darbi and Eric’s wedding ceremony was full of meaningful personal touches. Upon entry, guests were greeted with one of a few family memorials which were thoughtfully placed a touchpoints throughout the wedding. Monogrammed fans were available to further aid in keeping their guests comfortable for the ceremony.
As a part of their vows, the bride and groom indulged in another mutual love – peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. A completely sweet unity ceremony, the pair made the sandwich together and took a bite out of it at the same time. This moment was a reminder of Eric’s proposal which included a romantic picnic and PB & J sandwiches. Bespoke service-ware from this part of the ceremony serves as an ultra-sweet reminder for them in the years to come.
The bride’s love of navy, sage green, and dusty rose formed the color palette. We love the fresh feel that this gave their bridal party for this Springtime wedding!
Touches of the craft beer theme were found in the bridal bouquets by Rose Ave Floral. Hops were included in the greenery for a perfect nod to the theme in an elegant manner.
The gentlemen of the wedding party wore custom tie clips accented with a beer cap from each of their favorite brews. This fun touch added personality and color to their ensembles, and tied in perfectly to the wedding theme!
Upon entry to the reception, guests were greeted by a seating chart welcome board which doubled as favors. Bottle openers with soft blush ribbons held guest names and ushered them to their tables named after Darbi and Eric’s favorite craft breweries. Growler jugs from each location held dried flowers matching the bridal party florals with simple blush table runners and our venue-included table greenery.
Treats abounded for guests and four-legged friends alike. The couple opted for a delightful cookie table for their guests and included dog biscuits as an homage to their own beloved dogs. Their dogs were also found in their craft beer wedding bar signage, with recommendations provided by the couple. On the patio, caricature artist, Rolando Decastro, delighted the bride and groom and their guests with fun illustrations.
The joy was inescapable whether in the Reception Hall or outdoors on our Patio space. We loved how these thoughtful touches resulted in such a beautiful celebration and wedding reception!
For Darbi and Eric who have been together for many years, the pair were most excited to keep doing life together as Husband and Wife. We loved their easy disposition and mentality for the wedding day, with the following bit of wisdom to share for couples planning their own weddings:
Acknowledge that something is going to go wrong on your wedding day, but don’t allow that to ruin your day. You will envision how things will look and how the day will go and while it won’t end up being exactly how you picture it… it will be beautiful no matter what. We look back and laugh about those moments, and we enjoyed our day by not allowing anything to ruin it.
