I drew my inspiration for our summer wedding at The Wilds from the white, clean vibe of the venue. I didn’t want anything too harsh or contrasting, and I felt like my color palette could be flexible since our wedding date was the first week in September. My wedding dress was flowy and had a blush underlay, so I decided to use that as my starting point for colors, and found bridesmaid dresses in a dusty blush color. I wanted a slight pop of color in my flowers, so I worked with Eufloric Events to come up with a bouquet that incorporated different tones of whites, creams, blush, and light peach, with a touch of greenery for more contrast. I wanted the overall vibe for the day to be a soft and romantic look, which I think we achieved!
After looking at several venues, I knew the moment I walked into The Wilds that it was the one. I absolutely loved the bright, airy feel the venue had and the gorgeous outdoor ceremony pavilion and patio.
We knew we didn’t want a barn venue, and we wanted something more unique than a ballroom, and The Wilds was just the perfect in between.
What sold me even more than the beauty of the venue, was the people who own it. Alison’s kind spirit and attention to detail immediately made me feel so at ease. Her and her husband were absolutely wonderful throughout the entire planning process and on the day of our wedding.

The most special moment of our wedding day was our first look! We decided to do a first look before our ceremony and read our personal vows to each other during that time. There are very few times on your wedding day that you have a moment to yourselves to just soak everything in, so this was truly one of my favorite moments of the day.
We are looking forward to just living every day life with each other as a married couple. Don’t get me wrong, we love traveling and experiencing new things together, but there is something so special about living your day to day with your best friend. We love going on walks, cooking together, and sharing a bottle of wine during a movie night!
I am not an overly fussy girl, so we went with fairly simple decor for our ceremony and reception. I purchased a bolt of white cheesecloth online that we had draped down all of the tables and Eufloric Events put together eucalyptus garland along with some different sized pillar candles. We ended up doing a sweetheart table, so to differentiate that, we added some flowers into the eucalyptus and replaced the pillar candles with some antique votives. On the fireplace, we placed an arrangement of clear blue bottles with sprigs of greenery and flowers inside of them for a little bit of color.
My biggest piece of advice with wedding planning is to not sweat the small stuff. I think being a 2020 COVID bride taught me so much about that! Even though it was extremely hard at many times, it ended up being a blessing. The day before our wedding, we were reminiscing and laughing about all of the little details that we stressed so much over. Yes, you want your day to be perfect, but it will be because you get to marry your best friend! Your guests will forget about the flowers, the decor, the music, but they will remember the overall vibe of the day and how they felt! When you remember all of that, it really puts things into perspective.

Our biggest priority for the day was to have fun! We didn’t really have any non-negotiables or must-haves. The most important thing to us was to have our close friends and family with us to celebrate the day and make memories.
“Alison and Brian are phenomenal! They are such genuine people and their staff were wonderful as well. I could truly enjoy my wedding day because I could trust that everything was being taken care of. On top of how amazing they are, this venue is truly something special. Numerous people commented on how beautiful and unique it was, and it was honestly my favorite thing about my wedding.”– Kaylen
