If you are looking for creative summer wedding ideas, you won’t want to miss Emma and Jake’s floral filled wedding at The Wilds venue. Full of romance in both visual styling and an unforgettable epic homage to Crazy Rich Asians, this is sure to have the outdoor wedding ceremony inspiration you’ve been searching for!
Emma and Jake centered their wedding experience around The Wilds wedding venue in the Hills of Brown County. After getting engaged at Brown County State Park, they turned to their photographer, Stacey Harting, for outdoor portraits at The Wilds venue in Indiana. Engagement sessions are a key element to relationship building between photographers and their couples. Stacey had this to say about the importance of engagement sessions:
It is a great opportunity to not only get in front of my camera before the big day, but also allows for the opportunity to get to know one another and create a friendship. By establishing that before the big day, I believe it creates a comfortable atmosphere with my clients— which really allows genuine and authentic moments to happen for the camera!
Emma and Jake’s late Summer wedding in the rolling hills of Brown County, Indiana is filled to the brim with thoughtful touches in a fresh aesthetic. Romance and an abundance of flowers were the order of the day. The bride creatively utilized a modern classic film as her inspiration point for their ceremony. With the versatility of stunning outdoor spaces with a cool interior, these summer nuptials were easy as a breeze. A serene and sweet bridal prep took place in our lovely bridal suite, and the day took off from there!
A perfect outdoor celebration for the bride involved as many flowers as possible. Emma entrusted the task to One Of A Kind Events. To create the ceremony space of her dreams they crafted lush bouquets, flower crowns, and boutonnieres for the wedding party. Soft lilac was woven throughout the arrangements and bridesmaids were outfitted with coral pops to contrast. The groom and groomsmen’s looks are anchored in the classic simplicity of blue groomsmen suits and white boutonnieres. A jovial portrait session took place in the walnut grove in front of The Wilds wedding venue. It was filled with grins from ear to ear from the whole bridal party!
One thing the bride knew she absolutely wanted for the ceremony? A cinematic-inspired walk down the aisle. Early into planning, Emma stated, “I have this vision of walking down the aisle to Can’t Help Falling In Love as seen in Crazy Rich Asians!” That is just what the pair did for their breezy outdoor Summer ceremony at The Wilds.
Taking cues from the iconic wedding scene, the outdoor ceremony pavilion was turned into a lush meadow with a romantic aisle of rose petals. Down to the music and the timing, the Crazy Rich Asians wedding scene served as the picturesque inspiration for Emma and Jake’s own I do’s. To see which elements they infused, view the scene before you see the photos!
For their romantic wedding portraits, Stacey Harting brought her light and airy style to the Summer setting of The Wilds. The warm glow abounds in the sweeping landscape with no shortage of jaw-dropping locations during their intimate portrait time. Stacey had some beautiful words to say about these two lovebirds and their experience together in the midst of the wild pandemic year!
“Emma and Jake were so fun to work with! They are so laid back and relaxed, and just overall wonderful people. They had to reschedule their wedding day because of the pandemic, but they handled it all with such grace. When they were finally able to hold the ceremony and celebrate, I truly believe it made the day that much more special to them because they knew what it took to get to that moment. I’m grateful to have not only gotten to know them, but to have been able to document such an important day.”Stacey Harting, Photographer
Laughter filled the room as the party transitioned indoors for the evening. With long banquet style farm tables, Emma and Jake’s guests enjoyed a fabulous wedding reception at The Wilds wedding venue in Indiana. Sweet bud vases of blooms were woven into greenery garland bringing pops of light and color. Their wedding cake by Icing On The Cake was perfectly painted to echo the bride’s bouquet with dainty lilac blooms. To cap off a celebration worthy of the film it was inspired by, a classic sparkler exit up the grand staircase for a new angle on the tried and true favorite.
