A love story sure to delight, and wedding floral inspiration sure to inspire throughout Kaitlyn and Matt’s Spring Wedding.
We adore incredible floral design at The Wilds, and Kaitlyn and Matt’s luscious April wedding brought inspiration at every moment. This pair knew that opulent blooms were key to celebrating their bond and love, and they treated their loved ones with an incredible experience with a perfect burst of color by Belles & Thistles. Their day, beautifully captured by photographer Courtney Carney, is sure to inspire your Spring wedding daydreams.

Meaningful moments started the day off with heart
This traditional pair started their wedding day at The Wilds with separate preparation. Kaitlyn donned her sweetheart neckline, a-line gown in our floral suite with the help of her mother and finishing touches and admiration from her bridesmaids before exchanging letters with Matt. Matt’s finishing touches were a simple boutonniere to accent his floral tie, and his grandfather’s cufflinks, gifted to him by his Mother the day before the wedding. The pair separately read notes to one another before a first touch from either side of the bridal suite door, taking time for a sweet private moment to settle the jitters and be together without losing the surprise of first sight at the ceremony.

A personal procession and major wedding floral inspiration
One of their favorite elements of the ceremony was the bride’s procession song. Kaitlyn and Matt love “Do You Wanna Do Nothing With Me?” by Lawrence, and the bride was able to surprise her groom with the help of their pianist. They arranged an instrumental blend of this sentimental tune with “Canon in D” for a classical and truly sentimental start to the vow exchange.
The pair’s ceremony took place in aromatic heaven, surrounded by florals. The ambiance was perfect for the bride and groom and their loved ones. Musing on the years ahead, Matt shared the following, which perfectly expresses what we’re passionate about at The Wilds.
“The long and short of it is that everything we do is better when we do it together. So no matter what we do, I look forward to having my best friend next to me the whole way. “

Mixing tones perfectly for an elegant bridal party
In early Spring, our Brown County venue is a minimalist canvas ready for all of your color dreams. Matt and Kaitlyn brought perfect pops in their Spring florals, and complimented them perfectly in their bridal party! The groom explains their guiding thoughts:
Our color palette for dresses and suits was navy blue and dark green. These darker more subdued colors allowed us to compliment with really bright florals, which were the main feature. The florals also really helped add a pop to the outdoor pictures and ceremony, as a lot of the trees weren’t green yet.
We adore these tone mixtures and the thoughtful accessorizing for transitional weather, with plaid shawls for the bridesmaids.

Spring Floral Inspiration for a lush and delightful reception
As the couple states it in regard to their decor style, “The florals were our main priority, most things other than that were chosen as not to get in the way of that.” With our bright and neutral interior, the colors were truly on display and delighted guests upon entry to the reception hall! Vibrant centerpieces floated in classic glass vases with a clean table design and navy blue napkins, nodding back to the groom and groomsmen suiting. Placecards were kept classic, minimal, and clean. A meadow of flowers adorned the mantle behind the couple at their head table and framed them perfectly.
The evening unfolded with all of the love and laughter that we so adore seeing around here, with a special touch at dessert to the bride’s family! Kaitlyn and her family have a history of making their own ice cream and bringing homemade delights to family reunions to share. It was only fitting that Bloomington ice cream delight, Chocolate Moose, be the dessert of choice! The ice cream cart was a hit and a perfect personal detail for this beautiful Spring reception.

Advice from Kaitlyn and Matt
When asked what advice they would share with future couples at The Wilds, groom Matt shared the following advice to make the planning process easier:
Even if you do a couple things a week it makes your like way easier down the road. You’re not going to make every single person happy, so you need to concentrate on making each other happy when planning.
